Recently published in Polish book: Precision agriculture (S. M. Samborski – editor, 10 co-authors, 25 chapters on 522 pages) is addressed to people interested in studying, teaching, advising, practicing and implementing PA. Readers will be broadly familiarized with aspects of the importance of within-field spatial variability, the use of global positioning technology, the implementation of PA and its profitability, and the software and hardware available to implement PA, the tools used to determine spatial variability, tools and systems to make better management decisions, including decision support systems and telematics. The last two chapters present case studies of the successful use of PA on different size farms in Poland and show possible, simple applications of PA on small farms, which are very numerous in Poland. Because English terminology and abbreviations related to PA are often used in other languages, this book includes a glossary which gives Polish explanations of English terms.

The French organisers are pleased to welcome the return of the ECPA conference to France and to Montpellier. The conference will continue with the successful format of previous conferences of building in strong industry sessions and participation. Taking advantage of the location of Montpellier on the Mediterranean coast, this 2019 edition will be an opportunity to focus on precision farming applied to small Mediterranean farms. Of course, oral and poster presentations will be welcomed from authors on any precision agriculture topic, though particularly welcome on the list of topics shown in the Programme section. All prospective authors and presenters should view the ‘Key Dates’ section to ensure they can meet the deadlines.
