The International Society of Precision Agriculture and the Brazilian Association of Precision and Digital Agriculture are pleased to announce a joint conference in 2026.

Join us the week of 13 July 2026 for the 17th International Conference on Precision Agriculture (17th ICPA) and the 11th Brazilian Congress on Precision Agriculture (11th ConBAP) in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

The combined conference will bring together the global Precision Agriculture audience that ICPA attendees have come to know, as well as a strong representation from Brazil’s research, education, and industry sectors.  

This event serves as an exceptional platform for networking, collaboration in research, professional development, and extension activities.  The conference will include a joint ConBAP and ICPA educational program and exhibit hall.

The 2024 ISPA Annual Report is now available

The ISPA Board is now accepting nominations for ISPA Board Treasurer in a special election.  The elected Treasurer will fulfill the remaining three years of the current Treasurer's term, ending July 2028.  The individual will be eligible to run for reelection in 2028 for a full four year term. 

Responsibilities of the ISPA Treasurer
The Treasurer shall keep correct and complete records of account, showing accurately at all times the financial condition of the Society. The Treasurer shall have charge and custody of, and be responsible for, all funds, notes, securities and other valuables which may come into the possession of the Corporation and shall deposit, or cause to be deposited, all funds of the Corporation with such depositories as the Board of Directors shall designate. At the end of each year, the Treasurer, or the Treasurer's designee, shall provide a financial report summarizing the financial condition of the Society. This annual summary report will be published in an ISPA newsletter. The Treasurer, or the Treasurer's designee, shall furnish, at meetings of the Board of Directors or whenever requested, a statement of the financial condition of the Corporation, and in general shall perform all duties pertaining to the office of Treasurer.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Prof. Maurizio Canavari, a respected scholar in agricultural economics and a key figure in our community. Throughout his career, Prof. Maurizio Canavari made significant contributions to advancing research and mentoring the next generation of professionals also in the topic of precision agriculture. One of his remarkable achievements was organizing the ECPA23 conference held in Bologna, which, thanks to his tireless efforts, was held in Italy for the first time—a milestone for our field.

Despite facing illness, he continued his work with unwavering passion, embodying resilience and dedication. His humanity, professionalism, and sense of humor remain an enduring inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the honor of collaborating with him.

Despite the current political and socio-economic problems and challenges in Georgia, it must be underlined that this is a country with diverse agricultural landscapes and a rich farming tradition.  It is at a crossroads where innovation is essential to address emerging challenges and unlock its agricultural potential. Climate change, land degradation, resource inefficiency, and market access barriers pose significant threats to the sector's sustainability and productivity. Precision agriculture and smart digital solutions offer a transformative pathway to overcome these challenges and build a resilient and sustainable agricultural system.
