Dr. Haapala is specialized in Precision Farming / Smart Agriculture where he did pioneering research in 1990´s on simulating the precision requirement of positioning. Lateron he concentrated on acceptability and uptake of related technologies. He has worked as leader of Finnish agricultural engineering research, testing, and advisory services.
