ISPA Awards
The International Society of Precision Agriculture has the privilege of recognizing individuals whose work elevates Precision and Digital Agriculture and strengthens our community. We are now accepting nominations for the ISPA awards honoring exceptional achievement, innovation, leadership, and service.
Nominations are open for the Outstanding Graduate Student Awards, Pierre C. Robert Precision Agriculture Awards, Legacy Award, and Teaching Excellence Award. These distinctions celebrate excellence at every stage — from students and promising emerging professionals to seasoned leaders whose lasting contributions have shaped our field. We invite you to help us spotlight those who inspire, mentor, discover, and lead.

The Pierre C. Robert Precision Agriculture Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to precision agriculture science and technology and who are presenting an oral or poster paper at the conference. Two awards will be given in this category to a Young and Senior Scientist/Professional. The young scientist/professional must be 42 or younger; the senior scientist/professional over 42. Senior scientists/professionals must have 20 or more years of experience the majority of which must be in the area of precision agriculture. The nominee must be an active member of ISPA.

The selected candidates will be honored during the conference award ceremony with a Plaque of Achievement and USD $1,000 cash award.

ISPA Outstanding Graduate Student Awards
The purpose of this award is to recognize graduate student achievement, training, preparation and research in the area of precision agriculture. The award is administered by the Award Committee of the International Society of Precision Agriculture. Up to 10 awards will be made to graduate students presenting their research work (oral or poster paper) at the conference.
Award
The selected candidates will be honored during the conference award ceremony with a Certificate of Achievement, waived conference registration fees, and USD $500 cash award.

ISPA Teaching Excellence Award
The ISPA Teaching Excellence Award honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to education in the field of precision, digital or smart agriculture. This award recognizes innovative teaching practices, curriculum development, mentorship, and the integration of emerging technologies that advance student learning and industry readiness. The recipient should exemplify leadership as an educator and provide meaningfully global advancement through education. The award may be given posthumously and is open to all ISPA members.
Nominees should demonstrate excellence across the following dimensions:
- Educational Impact - Evidence of sustained excellence in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in precision/digital/smart agriculture. Development of innovative curricula that incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as data analytics, automation, robotics, and AI in agriculture to enhance learning outcomes.
- Professional Impact - Demonstrated influence on the broader academic and professional community, including the continued work of former students now in faculty or industry roles.
Award
The selected candidate will be honored during the conference award ceremony with a Plaque of Achievement and USD $1,000 cash award. While recipients are encouraged to attend ICPA to accept the award in person, attendance is not mandatory.

ISPA Legacy Award
The ISPA Legacy Award honors an individual who has made enduring and transformative contributions to the field of precision, digital, or smart agriculture. This recognition celebrates a career marked by innovation, leadership, and impact, acknowledging those whose work has shaped the evolution of agricultural technologies and practices. The award may be given posthumously and is open to all ISPA members.
Nominees will be evaluated using the following criteria. The nominee should have demonstrated excellence in two or more of these criteria.
- Career Longevity and Commitment - Minimum of 20 years of involvement in precision, digital or smart agriculture. Contributions may span academia, industry, extension, or public service.
- Innovation - Pioneering work in the development or application of precision technologies and/or data analytics, automation and digital decision support systems. Demonstrated influence on the adoption and evolution of ag tech tools and platforms.
- Leadership and Professionalism - Leadership role or an active member of ISPA. Has also provided service on national/international initiatives advancing precision, digital or smart agriculture.
- Impact - Measurable influence on agricultural practices, policy, education, or industry standards. Recognition through awards, publications, patents, or widespread adoption of innovations.
