Let's Define Precision Agriculture (next step)
Please send an email to past-president@ispag.org explaining why you want to be selected to participate in a soon to be launched Codigital process to developing a new definition of Precision Agriculture. Based on an initial survey, a few definitions will be provided to you and you will have a chance to vote, modify and propose new ideas. The other participants will do the same and a consensus will emerge. Participants are limited at this stage due to technical restrictions. So please, volunteer if you are really interested in having your views considered and provide a short justification about why you can make a difference.
Today, several dozen definitions exist to define the term “precision agriculture”. Some of these definitions are more widely used than others. However, the public perspective on precision agriculture has been changing with time and the original definitions may no longer be representative of this change. Many of the authors of published definitions are members of the International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA), and it will be a useful exercise to gather society-wide opinion on the proper definition.
Guidelines about On-Farm Experimentation
Building an “OFE wiki How-to”: seeking reports and guidelines about On-Farm Experimentation
The ISPA Community OFE (On-Farm Experimentation) is creating an online “OFE wiki How-to” to support On-Farm Experimentation initiatives worldwide. We are looking for:
- Relevant material aimed at practitioners to (re-)publish (or link toward) e.g. design manuals, implementation guidelines for farmers, best practice recommendations, scripts and protocols for analysts, statistical solutions and packages, accounts of experiences and lesson learnt for extension personnel, etc.
- People motivated to volunteer time and effort to help setup, compile, organise, write-up the Wiki (excellent opportunity for undergrads/ postgrads willing to be involved with international networks!)

5th Global Workshop on Proximal Soil Sensing
Dates: 28-31 May 2019

Dating back to 2008, the GWPSS provides a venue for exchanging research and application information related to all aspects of proximal soil sensing. With the theme of “Linking Soil Sensing to Management Decisions,” the 2019 workshop will include keynotes, oral and poster presentations, and a field day with equipment demonstrations.
Abstract submission deadline is December 15, 2018.

12th ECPA - Deadline Updates

The French organisers are pleased to welcome the return of the ECPA conference to France and to Montpellier. The conference will continue with the successful format of previous conferences of building in strong industry sessions and participation. Taking advantage of the location of Montpellier on the Mediterranean coast, this 2019 edition will be an opportunity to focus on precision farming applied to small Mediterranean farms. Of course, oral and poster presentations will be welcomed from authors on any precision agriculture topic, though particularly welcome on the list of topics shown in the Programme section. All prospective authors and presenters should view the ‘Key Dates’ section to ensure they can meet the deadlines.

Key Dates
- Authors have been notified regarding their submissions.
- Full papers (8 pages) will then be required by 9 December 2018.
- February 2019 – return of reviewed papers and confirmation of acceptance.
- A final deadline for submission of finalised papers will be set with the proceedings editor and will be notified shortly.
- Poster abstracts must be received by Wednesday 1 May 2019 to be accepted.
- Editorial work to ensure poster abstract they can be submitted to the book of abstracts must be completed by Friday 31 May 2019.
- Registrations will open shortly.
- Closing dates for early bird registrations will be the 15 March 2019.
- The closing date for final registrations, will be confirmed later.
8th Asian-Australasian Conference on Precision Agriculture
